ROOSEVELT STUDENTS HELP PLAN HAITI HABITAT HOME..

Roosevelt High School students helped to plan a home for shelter in Haiti..this home..was one designed to be built to last for the earthquakes. Jim Killoran visited and congradulated the students….they will be recognized for their efforts at the American Dream Luncheon…June 3rd..

Rose Brown, her kids and her mom., are excited..the new plans were unveiled&hellipand the unfinished Modular home is ready to go with your help!

Kevin Kean of ODMD stated..

ODMD sponsored the event, along with TD Bank North. We had great attendance, and the excitement is BUILDING IN WHITE PLAINS! This is our 9th project there..our 7th home, along with helping the families displaced there from NOLA..working with City Hall. The new site will be on 3 Highland Avenue&hellipstay tuned! My name is Vanessa Lewis. I will be riding in the Habitat/Junior League bike ride on Saturday in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the great work Habitat is doing across the County.  Right now they are building from Yonkers to Somers.  I was able to participate in a build day recently in Somers and was so rewarded by the experience.  Habitat really does change lives, making family's dreams a reality!  I hope you will consider sponsoring me as I set on this quest to help change more lives in our community!

FORDHAM UNITIVERSITY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH Habitat for Humanity of Westchester

A great partnership was announced yesterday...with Fordham University and Habitat for Humanity of Westchester. Fordham will help sponsor homes in Haiti, send groups to build there, as well as have their interns from the college help with Habitat's family services dept and other depts. This will also include assistance in its newly formed Haiti dept., Sustainability Dept, and its work with its new Restores....Claude Jeudy visited from Haiti this week to thank Fordham as well as help thanks the many who have helped Habitat of Haiti!

Busy weekend

APRIL 10-11

A busy weekend in Habitat land.  TAG SALE AT BRONXVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.  Great furniture and supplies.  A benefit for Habitat for Humanity of Westchester.  2x4s being sold at St. John & Paul church, Larchmont NY.  For more information call 914-403-4821.

The roof is going on the home in Somers on Forest Lane.  Another generation of a family's lives changed.
