SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF HURRICANE SANDY: Monday April 29th
This weekend we move two more hurricane sandy families into their homes..one in Breezy the other in the Far Rockaways. The Vetters and the Vasquez family…….what a joyous victory of love, help and sweat and tears… We have just begun……
· The devestation of Sandy left families in the worst crisis of their lives…..to this day thousands of families are still without a home….still have the stress of what decisions to make, to elevate, to rebuild to try to get enough money to survive….but Habitat of Westchester was there, the first week…and we haven’t left….
· 6500 volunteers later….
· 700 plus homes registered…
· 260 homes gutted and mucked…families moved into their homes…
· .120 homes of sheetrock and insulation delivered…
· Ten businesses rehabbed to get back up and running with volunteers cleaning and reorganizing
Pray for us…this weekend we have a cookout at 60 W Market Street…at noon in Breezy…at Christ Community Church….we have a prayer service Sunday morning there…and then Monday we work again..back at helping families get back in…..
Please make a Hurricane Sandy donation today..for our efforts….! To volunteer email
