Local Project Committees (LPC) play an important role in Habitat for Humanity of Westchester's mission. They allow members of the community to work hand-in-hand with Habitat staff. LPC members plan the next steps that Habitat will take in their community, working toward our ultimate goal of building more affordable housing in the county. Currently, Habitat for Humanity of Westchester has LPCs in Ossining, White Plains, Yonkers, Peekskill and Mount Vernon. The ideal place for grassroots action, LPC members often include local political leaders, members of the volunteer community, active high school students, and concerned citizens in general. It is our best way to keep in touch with the very communities that we are looking to serve, while staying visible within each community.
